New Year’s Retreat at Plum Village
About This Event
Welcome the new year with presence
This week-long retreat offers time to rest, reconnect, and renew a commitment to mindful living as one year ends and another begins. All three hamlets host the retreat, with moments of noble silence, collective practice, and special celebrations on New Year’s Eve. Teachings are in English with French translation, and the contribution includes lodging, daily vegan meals, teachings, and activities.

About Plum Village
Founded by Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh in 1982, Plum Village is a community of monastic hamlets among the orchards of southwest France. Days follow a gentle rhythm of sitting and walking meditation, Dharma talks, mindful meals, and small-group sharing, practiced alongside resident monks and nuns. Plum Village is one of the picks in Mindful’s 2027 Retreat Guide.
