Mindful is the voice of the emerging mindfulness community. We work to provide insight, information, and inspiration to help us all live more mindfully.

Mindful.org, its subdomains and other Mindful properties are published by Mindful Communications & Such PBC (“Mindful”), located at 515N State St. Suite 300, Chicago Il. 60654. 

This policy sets out our commitment to you regarding how we may collect and use your information.

What information?

The Privacy Policy covers information users provide to us, including, but not limited to, name, email address, physical address, phone number, other personal information, content of messages and comments, and transactional information, including but not limited to, credit card and billing data. Information collected from users may include their site activity, access device, browser type, their location, IP address, pages visited, cookies, and other similar information.

How Mindful uses your information

We use the information to manage services provided by us or our licensees or affiliates, such as contacting users and for advertising and marketing purposes. We may share non-personally identifiable information, such as aggregated user statistics, with third parties.  We keep such information for only as long as needed for business operations and legal compliance.

We may use the information we collect when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, browse the website, or use certain other site features to provide services such as:

How do we protect your information?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.

Mindful.org uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure or HTTPS. HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The ‘S’ at the end of HTTPS stands for ‘Secure’, meaning all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. Your personal information is also contained behind secured networks. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your information. All transactions are processed through a secure PCI compliant gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

A. Mindful.org and Other Mindful Digital Properties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties without your consent. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. On occasion, Mindful makes use of our mail databases available to organizations whose products and/or services we feel will be of interest to our audience.

We may disclose information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other requests from jurisdictions inside or outside of the United States where we believe in good faith that the response is required under local laws of that jurisdiction, applies to users from that jurisdiction, and is consistent with generally accepted international practice.  We may also share information when we believe in good faith belief that it is necessary to prevent fraud or other illegal activity, to prevent imminent bodily harm, or to protect ourselves and you from people violating our Terms of Service.

B. Mindful Magazine SubscribersOn occasion Mindful makes one-time use of names and mailing addresses of our print magazine subscribers located in the United States available to organizations whose products/services we feel will be of interest to our readers. If you would like your name excluded from all such mailings, contact subscriber services by phone or by email.

We offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

  • Letting users visit our site anonymously
  • Providing a link on our homepage to this Privacy Policy
  • Including the word ‘Privacy’ in the link to this policy which can be easily be found on the homepage
  • Notifying users of any Privacy Policy changes on this Privacy Policy page

Do Not Track signals

Third party browsers may provide “do not track” signals for websites which are automatically applied by default and therefore do not necessarily reflect our visitors’ choice as to whether they wish to receive personalized ads. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under the age of 13.

Contests and promotions

Mindful.org reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice to you. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy. Mindful.org will not, however, use your Personal Information without your consent in a manner materially different from what was stated at the time it was collected.
