Pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Sacred Sites in Tibet
About This Event
Twenty days on the rooftop of the world
Mount Kailash, in far-western Tibet, has drawn pilgrims for centuries and is considered sacred in several traditions. This small-group journey travels from Nepal across the Tibetan plateau to the mountain itself, with daily meditation along the way.
June 5–24, 2027. The group meets in Kathmandu, Nepal. From $8,900 USD per person.
What the journey includes
The heart of the trip is a two-and-a-half-day kora, a walking circuit around Mount Kailash, timed to coincide with Saga Dawa, one of the most significant days of the year in the region. A team of Nepali cooks and helpers accompanies the group on the walk. The trip is all-inclusive, with daily meditation, group discussions, vegetarian meals, accommodation, and transportation. Groups are capped at 21 people.
The journey is led by Himalayan Hermitage facilitator Albin Hamard.
Who it’s for
Experienced, active travelers in good physical condition. This journey is rated strenuous, with full-day hikes at high altitude on steep, mountainous terrain. You’ll need a passport valid for at least six months for entry to Nepal and for the group visa to Tibet.
