Mindfulness: taking it to the street

On September 7, Dr. Jonathan Kaplan will be offering a class in New York on how to bring the practice of mindfulness to daily urban experiences.

How do you incorporate mindfulness when going through daily life, such as when riding the subway, waiting in line, or encountering homeless people on the street?  Integrating mindfulness into your daily life helps establish a foundation for greater peace and well-being, says Jonathan Kaplan.

Kaplan is a clinical psychologist, Brooklyn-based dad, and author of the book, Urban Mindfulness: Cultivating Peace, Presence, and Purpose in the Middle of It All. He has been teaching mindfulness and meditation for more than a decade.
