Dr. Karen Bluth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina, where she conducts research on self-compassion and its influences on the emotional well-being of teens. In addition to her research, Dr. Bluth is co-creator of the curriculum Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens, and trains teachers internationally in this program. Dr. Bluth is author of three self-compassion books for teens including The Self-Compassion Workbook for Teens and the Audible Original Self-Compassion for Girls: A Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Coaches. Her forthcoming book, Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens in Schools: A 16-session Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum will be released in fall 2023.
