Summer Institute for Educators

Registration is open for The Greater Good Science Center's annual residential summer institute for educators. 

The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley is excited to announce the application call for the second annual residential Summer Institute for Educators, to take place on the UC Berkeley Campus June 27-July 2.

The Institute will bring experts on compassion, empathy, and mindfulness together with a selected group of 60 educators to equip teachers and administrators with research-based skills to boost their own emotional well-being as well as the social and emotional well-being of their students.

Speakers include : Rick Hanson, Ph.D., neuropsychologist and author of Hardwiring Happiness: The New Brain Science of Lasting Inner Strength; Megan Cowan, co-founder of Mindful Schools, and Vicki Zakrzewski, Ph.D., Education Director at the Greater Good Science Center.

The application deadline is February 28, 2014. Participants receive a certificate of completion and a letter confirming clock hours of instruction.

All pre-K-12th grade educators, counselors, psychologists, and education administrators interested in creating positive school environments are welcome and encouraged to apply.
