How much does mindfulness matter?

The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds (CIHM), at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, has spent several years developing a program for control group subjects in studies of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR), and is now reporting what they've found thus far.

“Up until now,” says researcher Donal MacCoon, PhD, in  CIHM’s December newsletter, “we haven’t had the ability to test what makes [MBSR] work… At CIHM, we’ve been able to develop an active control condition that can test this assumption for the first time.”
