Congressman Tim Ryan writes book on mindfulness

The book—A Mindful Nation: How a simple practice can help us reduce stress, improve performance and recapture the American spirit—is slated to come out in March.

The book focuses on the science of mindfulness. Ryan describes the practice as performance enhancer that allows people to better focus their attention.

"I thought they should be teaching this to kids, they should be teaching this to the military," said Ryan, whose book advocates just that. "There's a ton of neuroscience behind it. The literature is growing exponentially."
