MINDFULNESS PRACTICE

Your MBCT video toolkit

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). What is it? Self-proclaimed psychology geek Jay Uhdinger provides an illustrated introduction.

In a series of videos, one including an alien invasion as a possible scenario for investigating the human mind, Uhdinger puts a narrative twist on MBCT research.

Uhdinger presents his videos as free online courses, ranging from a basic understanding of how we process thoughts to mindfulness meditation and happiness. The videos are accompanied by worksheets and additional information. Uhdinger emphasizes that all of his work can be interpreted as his "spin" on MBCT and he draws on psychological studies in MBCT, CBT, and positive psychology.

Uhdinger talks about how his personal discoveries lead to a strong desire to share what he learned:

"I consider what I learned the most important lessons in my life, and I made a free online course out of it for you to check out. There is no hidden sales pitch (I don’t even want your email) and I’m no guru. I really just created this course because A) it would make sure I was learning this stuff properly and B) because its so awesome stuff more people should discover it."
