When did you first start practicing mindfulness and why were you motivated to do so?

I started practicing mindfulness back when I worked as a Code Enforcement Officer. Dealing with the public every day, I needed to look at everything from a different perspective; thinking more of the effect of actions, not just the emotion of those actions.

Did you take a class? If so, what sort of class did you take?

No, I just started talking with the monks at the vihar near my home. I literally just walked in one day.

How has mindfulness made a difference in your life?

It's all about bringing calmness and patience to every interaction I have. Not just with people I deal with on a day-to-day basis, but every single interaction I have and the decisions I make.

What do you do for your livelihood (ex: homemaker, teacher, firefighter) and does your practice of mindfulness affect that?

I'm now a technology consultant for an advertising agency. In my 10 years of being here, I've realized you'll get further with clients [internal and external] through mindfulness. It's all about perspective.

Is there anything else you would want people to know about mindfulness and you?

If you knew me 12 years ago, you would be shocked to see my today. Literally a 180 in terms of my decision-making and forethought.
