Michael Wood received a traditional education in photography from Sheridan College School of Visual Arts, and worked as a commercial photographer in Toronto for 18 years. He synthesized his meditation experience with his photographic work to develop the exercises and assignments that form the core of Miksang Contemplative Photography. Wood co-authored The Practice of Contemplative Photography.
